Volunteers Make ALL THIS Possible! The Boy Scouts of America relies on dedicated volunteers to promote its mission of preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Today, nearly 1.2 million adults provide leadership and mentoring to Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers. Through the dedication of these many volunteers, the Boy Scouts of America remains the foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training in America. Scouting volunteers come to Scouting from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.Their are people from a wide array of occupations and backgrounds involved in leading scouts to become good citizens. Volunteers will learn new skills, have fun and build strong friendships that last a lifetime. The Potawatomi Area Council supports more than 2,500 volunteers who develop and enrich the lives of over 7,000 boys and girls, ages 6 through 20, over the course of a year. The council provides volunteers a wide range of youth and adult training opportunities, including online courses, training videos, and district and council events. Service Area Potawatomi Area Council serves all of Waukesha County and portions of Dodge, Jefferson, Walworth and Washington counties In a Cub Scout pack, Boy Scout troop, Varsity Scout team, Venturing crew, or Sea Scout ship—or in any position in a district or council—your participation is a service to your community and helps youth become better citizens. As members of the Boy Scouts of America, high-quality adult leaders are important role models for youth.
